Recycling Operative

Duties

* Sort and separate recyclable materials such as plastics, metals, paper, and electronics with precision and efficiency

* Operate heavy machinery and equipment safely, including balers, conveyors, and shredders

* Conduct heavy lifting of recyclable items to ensure proper handling and processing

* Maintain cleanliness of work areas by clearing debris and ensuring waste is correctly sorted for recycling

* Perform routine inspections of machinery to identify maintenance needs or potential safety hazards

* Follow all safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents and promote a secure working environment

* Assist in the loading and unloading of recyclable materials from trucks or containers as needed

Qualifications

* Mechanical knowledge or experience with operating industrial equipment is highly desirable

* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely throughout the shift

* Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in sorting processes

* Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods

* Commitment to following safety procedures at all times
