How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Alongside condition reporting, you will carry out electrical remedial works, fault finding and general servicing and maintenance of pumps and associated equipment.

    Working from home and travelling across the South Wales region, you will manage your own workload and complete reports remotely where practical.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Carry out electrical condition assessments across pumping stations

    * Inspect electrical installations, control panels, pumps and associated equipment

    * Complete electrical repairs and remedial works following inspections

    * Support servicing and maintenance of pumps and pumping equipment

    * Produce clear and accurate electrical condition reports

    * Record findings, photographic evidence and recommended actions

    * Carry out electrical testing and inspection where qualified

    * Complete technical reports from home where appropriate

    * Ensure work is completed in line with current electrical and health and safety standards

    What We're Looking For

    * Fully qualified Electrician

    * Current Gold ECS/JIB Card

    * Previous water industry experience

    * Experience with pumps, pumping stations or process equipment

    * Strong electrical fault-finding and remedial experience

    * Good understanding of electrical control panels and associated equipment

    * Ability to produce accurate technical reports

    * Comfortable working independently across a regional patch

    * Full UK driving licence

    * City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent Inspection & Testing qualification is highly advantageous

    What's on Offer

    * £18.00–£21.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications

    * Paid door-to-door travel

    * Company vehicle and equipment

    * Two company bonus opportunities per year

    * 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays

    * Ongoing training and professional development

    * Home working for report completion where practical

    * Long-term opportunity within an established water industry business

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced water industry Electrician looking to move away from a standard maintenance position into a more varied role combining electrical inspections, condition reporting, fault finding and remedial engineering
