How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A well-established transport planning consultancy is looking to appoint an Associate Transport Planner to join its London office.
    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced transport planning professional looking to take on a key leadership role within a growing and highly respected consultancy. You will play a leading role in project delivery, client management, team development and business growth.
    Working across a diverse portfolio of large development planning projects, you'll be involved in schemes spanning residential, commercial, mixed-use, logistics, education and regeneration developments throughout the UK. Previous schemes include Battersea Power Station and London Pavilion.

    The Role

    Key responsibilities include:

    Leading the delivery of transport planning projects from inception through to planning consent.
    Preparing and reviewing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and supporting technical reports.
    Managing project programmes, budgets and resources.
    Providing technical leadership and mentoring junior team members.
    Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
    Attending meetings with developers, local authorities and stakeholders.
    Supporting business development activities, fee proposals and tender submissions.
    Contributing to the strategic growth of the transport planning team.

    About You

    Candidates should have:

    Significant experience within a transport planning consultancy environment.
    A strong background in development planning.
    Experience preparing and reviewing planning-related transport documents.
    Good knowledge of planning policy and highway authority requirements.
    Proven project and client management experience.
    Strong communication and report-writing skills.
    Experience mentoring and managing junior staff.
    Experience with software such as TRICS, TEMPro, Junctions, LinSig and GIS packages would be advantageous.
