How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Overview

    We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator/Buyer specializing in Groundwork and Civil projects to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, sourcing and purchasing materials, and managing supplier relationships to ensure seamless project execution. Your expertise will drive cost efficiencies, support project planning, and contribute to the successful delivery of civil and groundwork initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse infrastructure projects within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

    Duties

    * Prepare detailed cost estimates for groundwork and civil projects by analyzing drawings, specifications, and project requirements.

    * Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure quality materials and services at competitive prices.

    * Manage procurement processes using ERP systems such as SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, or AS400 to ensure timely delivery of materials.

    * Collaborate with project managers and logistics teams to coordinate material deliveries and optimize supply chain efficiency.

    * Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier contracts, and project budgets within ERP platforms.

    * Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations in construction materials related to civil works to inform purchasing decisions.

    * Foster strong relationships with vendors through effective negotiation, ensuring favorable terms while maintaining quality standards.

    Qualifications

    * Proven experience as an estimator or buyer within the groundwork or civil construction sectors.

    * Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, or AS400 is highly desirable.

    * Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure optimal pricing and delivery terms.

    * Knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, and procurement processes specific to civil engineering projects.

    * Familiarity with merchandising practices relevant to construction materials and civil supplies.

    * Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.

    * Experience working with systems like Oracle EBS or other ERP platforms that support procurement and inventory management is a plus.
