How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services)

    £55k - £65k + Dept on experience

    South Bucks - Hybrid Working

    consultancy / building services / electrical design engineer / senior electrical design engineer

    This role is to join a specialist design consultancy working exclusively in mechanical and electrical design for the construction industry.

    Since their inception this employer has concentrated on providing a high quality of personal service to their clients giving them secure ongoing projects. The projects which are often based around healthcare are varied and complex, including labs, clean rooms, hospitals and large education projects.

    Responsibilities

    * Responsibilities will include the full cycle of projects from client briefs and planning, though to design and supervision and finally completion.

    * Developing conceptual & detailed design solutions in line with Client’s brief.

    * Carrying out the detailed electrical services design and calculations using Amtech, IES, Dialux and/or similar design software tools.

    * Management of projects to achieve client satisfaction and profitability for the business.

    * Commercially aware including financial management and reporting responsibility on project costs.

    * Production/writing of electrical specifications, schedules, reports and technical papers.

    * Professionally represent the business at a wide range of meetings from client, design team and site.

    Experience Required

    * Experience as an electrical engineer dealing with designs from client briefs to completion.

    * Design experience in electrical and mechanical building design systems.

    * Able to convey ideas clearly during meetings

    * Confident user of a range of software including Amtech, Dialux and Relux.

    * A degree in electrical engineering would be beneficial but not essential

    * Chartered status would be beneficial but not essential.

    * It’s likely to suit a designer who likes to take responsibility for their own workload
