How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Provide technical guidance to site teams, subcontractors and other engineers.
    * Monitor construction activities to ensure works are delivered in accordance with design and specification.
    * Complete quality inspections and maintain accurate records, including ITPs, check sheets and as-built information.
    * Assist with technical documentation and construction information.
    * Identify technical issues on site and develop practical solutions with the wider project team.
    * Liaise with designers, subcontractors and project management to resolve design and construction queries.
    * Support the planning and sequencing of works to maintain programme requirements.
    * Ensure materials, workmanship and construction methods meet required standards.
    * Support health, safety and environmental compliance across the project.
    * Work in accordance with RAMS, permits, risk assessments and site procedures.
    * Assist with temporary works requirements and coordination where required.
    * Maintain clear and accurate engineering records throughout the project.
    * Support and mentor junior engineers or trainees where required.
    Qualifications & Experience:
    * Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
    * Typically 3+ years' experience working as a Site Engineer within civil engineering or infrastructure.
    * Strong practical setting-out experience using GPS, total stations and levelling equipment.
    * Experience across earthworks, drainage, roads, structures or reinforced concrete.
    * Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
    * Experience with quality assurance, inspections, ITPs and as-built records.
    * Good understanding of construction methods, materials and technical standards.
    * Experience on major infrastructure, industrial or energy projects would be advantageous.
    * CSCS card essential; SSSTS/SMSTS and TWS/TWC qualifications or experience desirable.
    Benefits:
    * Competitive permanent salary.
    * Car allowance or company car.
    * Christmas bonus.
    * 26 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service.
    * Opportunity to work on a major energy infrastructure project with strong long-term career development opportunities.
    If you're an experienced Site Engineer looking for a long-term opportunity on a major energy infrastructure project, we'd be keen to hear from you
