How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Estimator - Leeds - £55,000

    We are seeking an Estimator for a leading Subcontractor within the construction industry. They transform spaces into functional and aesthetically pleasing environments. As they continue to expand, they are seeking a skilled Estimator to join an excellent team and contribute to their continued success.

    Position Overview:

    As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase by accurately assessing project costs and providing comprehensive estimates. You will be an integral part of the Pre- Construction team working closely with the Sales and Bid teams, this role will also need a person who has exposure to being client facing and somebody who is used to speaking with Architetcs and Tier 1 Contractors.

    Responsibilities:

    * Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documents to understand scope and requirements.

    * Prepare detailed cost estimates, including material take-offs, labour costs, subcontractor bids, and overhead expenses.

    * Collaborate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to obtain competitive pricing and accurate project data.

    * Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective solutions and timely delivery of materials and services.

    * Participate in bid meetings, negotiations, and client presentations as needed.

    * Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and pricing fluctuations to inform estimating practices and strategies.

    Qualifications:

    * Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry.

    * Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings, specifications, and contracts.

    * Advanced knowledge of estimating software and Microsoft Office suite.

    * Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
