How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title – Working Foreman
    Sector – House Adaptation
    Salary - £250 Per Shift
    Location – Tarporley
    Start Date – August
    Duration – 16-18 Weeks
    The Company
My client is an established construction contractor who requires an experienced Working Site Manager to manage a small bespoke residential adaptation project.
The project will run for a minimum of 16 weeks and will involve a full programme of refurbishment and adaptation works to an existing residential property.
    The Role
Reporting directly to an off-site Project Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the project, coordinating trades and ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required standard.
This is a genuine Working Foreperson / Working Manager position and not purely a management role. In addition to running the site, you will be expected to carry out works yourself and work alongside the lads on site daily. We are therefore ideally looking for somebody from a strong trades background who is still happy and capable of working on the tools.
The programme of works has already been produced, and you will be responsible for monitoring progress against the programme using project software on an iPad, which will be supplied.
The project will include new internal partitions, floor screeding, new windows and doors, new heating systems, air conditioning units, groundworks including new patio area, and all associated adaptation work.
You will be managing between 5 and 10 trades and subcontractors on site at any given time, ensuring everybody is working safely, efficiently and in accordance with the programme.
    * Deliver the project safely from start through to completion
    * Daily management of between 5 and 10 trades and subcontractors
    * Organisation and coordination of subcontractors, materials and deliveries
    * Monitor the construction programme using the supplied iPad and project software
    * Ensure works remain on programme and to the required quality standards
    * Ensuring compliance with the Health & Safety Management Plan
    * Keeping a site diary including records of subcontractor attendance and progress
    * Liaising with the off-site Project Manager regarding progress and any issues
    * Carry out general hands-on works on site as and when required
    About You
Ideally you will have a proven track record of managing small refurbishment, residential or adaptation projects and will come from a strong trades background.
You must be confident and capable of taking responsibility for the project from start through to completion. You will need to safely and confidently manage all elements of the works outlined above while coordinating a workforce of between 5 and 10 people on site at any given time.
We are looking for somebody who can take ownership of the site, understand the programme, coordinate the different trades and make sure the project continues to move forward safely and efficiently.
You must also be comfortable working as a hands-on Site Manager and be prepared to assist on the tools when required rather than purely managing the project from the site office.
    * Strong Man Management & Trade Skills
    * Excellent team working and communication skills
    * Ability to confidently manage a project from start to completion
    * Self-motivation with energy and drive
    * SMSTS, CSCS & First Aid At Work
    * Previous refurbishment / residential project experience
    * Comfortable using an iPad and basic project management software
    Apply & Rewards
For your skills and experience, we can offer a day rate of £250, working 07.00 – 15.00, Monday to Friday, for a minimum of 16 weeks.
For more information call Carl Bennion on (phone number removed) for a confidential chat between the hours of 7.00AM – 7.00PM or just click 'Apply Now' and send your CV.
Don’t forget to give our PRG Social Media platforms a follow which will include jobs, candidate of the month rewards, events, competitions, and general construction news.
