How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Quantity Surveyor

    Design & Build, Hoxton, London

    Overview

    This creative and fast-growing design and construction practice delivers high-quality residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects across London. Based in the heart of Hoxton, the business combines innovative design with expert project delivery to create exceptional spaces.

    Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, an opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in the commercial management of design and build projects from inception through to completion.

    The Role

    Reporting directly to senior leadership, the successful candidate will take ownership of the commercial performance of multiple projects, ensuring financial control, cost certainty, and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

    This position would suit a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor who enjoys working within a collaborative, design-led environment and wants to make a genuine impact on project success.

    Key Responsibilities

    Preparing accurate cost plans, estimates and tender documentation
    Managing procurement processes and subcontractor packages
    Negotiating contracts and commercial terms with suppliers and subcontractors
    Monitoring project costs, variations, valuations and cash flow
    Producing detailed cost reports and commercial forecasts
    Managing interim applications and final accounts
    Identifying and mitigating commercial risks across projects
    Working closely with project managers, designers and site teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved
    Supporting the continuous improvement of commercial systems and processesCandidate Requirements

    Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
    Previous experience within construction, fit-out, refurbishment or design and build environments
    Strong understanding of JCT contracts and construction procurement methods
    Excellent commercial awareness and financial management skills
    Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    Strong negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities
    Proficient in Microsoft Office and commercial reporting software
