How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you an experienced Project Manager or Senior Engineer with a background within engineering / manufacturing? This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of projects from initial concept and customer engagement through to detailed engineering, manufacture, installation, commissioning and final sign-off. Offering a salary up to £75,000 working a Monday - Friday days shift pattern. This is a full-time position based at the company's Huntington office, with regular UK and international travel.

    As a Project Manager your role will involve:

    Taking full ownership of allocated projects from project award through to customer sign-off and closure
    Developing and maintaining detailed project plans, including milestones, resources and risk registers
    Managing project budgets, ensuring projects remain on track and profitability targets are achieved
    Acting as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle
    Working closely with Sales, Design and Manufacturing teams to develop bespoke solutions for food processing applications
    Presenting block layout models and proposed solutions to customers and securing approval before detailed design
    Identifying and managing additional revenue opportunities outside the original project scope
    Applying your engineering knowledge to specify mechanical and electrical components, including conveyors, belts, motors, pneumatics and control systems
    Briefing the Design Engineering team to produce SolidWorks models and drawing packs for manufacture
    Ensuring designs meet relevant legislation, hygiene standards and customer specifications
    Supporting the manufacturing team to ensure production is delivered in line with project timelines and quality standards
    Overseeing and supporting the installation and commissioning of food production line equipment at customer sites
    Completing risk assessments for project proposals and installation activities
    Managing technical documentation, project records and regular project reporting
    Ensuring successful project handover to the after-sales and service teamsSuitable Candidate:

    Proven experience as a Project Manager, Senior Engineer or similar within capital equipment, industrial automation, food processing machinery or a related engineering environment
    HND/Degree level qualification in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience
    Experience managing projects through the full lifecycle, from concept through to on-site installation and commissioning
    Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and customer relationships
    Experience specifying mechanical components including conveying systems, motors, pneumatics and structural fabrications
    Experience using CAD software, ideally SolidWorks, alongside MS Project or similar planning software
    Strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to work directly with customers and internal stakeholders
    Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
    A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail
    Food processing or food production line experience would be highly advantageous
    Knowledge of food industry hygiene standards, BRCGS or hygiene-by-design principles would be beneficial
    Experience with electrical and pneumatic control systems would be advantageous
    Project management qualifications such as PRINCE2 or PMP, or CDM awareness, would be beneficial
