Shotfirer / Explosive Supervisor

We are currently hiring for an Shotfirer/ Explosives Supervisor, based at Holme Hall Quarry, South Yorkshire. This role will report into the Quarry Manager

Key Responsibilities

* The role will involve face profiling, marking out shots, designing the blast specification, safe transfer and storage of explosives.

* Other duties will include the charging and firing of production shots and liaising with the driller.

* Candidates must demonstrate a strong attitude to health and safety and demonstrate a sound understanding of shot firing operations.

* You will also ideally be working towards or have gained their NVQ level 3 in shot firing, MPQC shot firing/explosives supervision card.

* Duties will require maintenance and placements of bunding pre and post blast.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

* Although not essential, it would benefit to have quarry passports and tickets for: 50T Excavators, loading shovels, and 40T articulated dumpers.

* Although not essential, it would benefit to have geotechnical training and knowledge
