How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer –Devon – £47,500 pa + Benefits – REF 084

    Permanent Nights
    Monday – Friday | 10:00pm – 6:00am

    An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a leading global manufacturing organisation operating within a highly automated production environment, with a strong reputation for engineering excellence, quality and continuous improvement.

    As part of the Engineering team, the business is now seeking a Night Shift Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to provide hands-on maintenance support across a range of manufacturing, automation and facility equipment.

    Working closely with the Maintenance Team Leader and Production teams, you will play a key role in maintaining equipment uptime, responding to breakdowns, completing planned preventative maintenance and supporting ongoing continuous improvement across the site.

    The role will have a strong electrical bias, with responsibility for diagnosing and resolving faults across machinery, drives, safety circuits and ancillary equipment, alongside mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic maintenance.

    Skills & Experience Needed:

    • Previous experience within a manufacturing, processing or similar environment.
    • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic experience.
    • Good mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills.
    • Competence with pneumatics, hydraulics and variable speed drives.
    • Experience carrying out both reactive and planned preventative maintenance.
    • Good understanding of Health & Safety and safe systems of work.
    • Ability to carry out structured fault-finding and contribute to root cause analysis.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and methodical approach.
