How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Engineering Manager
    Location: Hessle
    Salary: £48,000 - £52,000

Consortium Professional Recruitment are pleased to be working with our client to recruit an Engineering Manager for a key leadership position within a busy operational environment. This is an opportunity to take ownership of engineering performance while helping to create safe, reliable and efficient plant operations.

You’ll join a supportive organisation where engineering plays a central role in operational success. Combining hands-on technical understanding with people leadership, you’ll have the scope to develop your team, strengthen maintenance practices and drive meaningful improvements across the site. You will be leading a multi-disciplined team of 4 Engineers.

    The Opportunity:

As an Engineering Manager you’ll play a key role in:

Leading, supporting and developing the maintenance team, encouraging high standards and a positive approach to continuous improvement.
Driving proactive and reactive maintenance practices, including accurate PPM schedules, to support safe, reliable plant performance.
Maintaining compliance with HSE, EA, LOLER, Written Schemes of Examination and other relevant regulatory requirements.
Managing contractors effectively, including inductions, authorisations, risk assessments and Permits to Work.
Working collaboratively with colleagues, senior management, suppliers and other stakeholders to minimise downtime and support production. Your work will directly contribute to safer operations, stronger engineering performance and improved plant reliability while supporting environmental compliance and effective waste minimisation.

    About You:

We’re looking for someone who can bring:

Proven management or supervisory experience within an engineering, maintenance or manufacturing environment.
Strong technical knowledge combined with a proactive, safety-focused approach to engineering and maintenance.
Effective organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to balance planned activity with changing operational demands.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, alongside an inclusive leadership style that supports team development.
Ideally a minimum of HNC within Engineering, but time served candidates with good management or supervisory skills will be considered
This role would suit either an established Engineering Manager or an Engineering Team Leader/Supervisor who is ready for a step up.

    The Benefits and Package:

    In return, you’ll enjoy:

    Salary of £48,000 - £52,000.
    Full-time, permanent employment.
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The opportunity to take ownership of an important engineering function and influence operational performance.
A supportive working environment where safety, respect, inclusion and professional development are valued.
    How to Apply:

This exciting Engineering Manager opportunity is being managed by Consortium Professional Recruitment, a trusted recruitment partner with a Human First approach. If you’re ready to take the next step in your career and bring your engineering and leadership experience to a role where you can make a genuine impact, we’d love to hear from you.
