How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Multi-Skilled Machine Programmer

    Location: Norfolk
    Working hours: Monday–Thursday 08:00–16:30 | Friday 08:00–15:30 (39 hours per week)
    Salary: £14.83ph

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Machine Programmer to join a successful and well-established manufacturing business supplying high-end products to the marine sector.

    This is a varied and technically focused role, ideal for someone who enjoys working across multiple CNC and fabrication platforms and thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused production environment.

    The Role

    You will be responsible for programming, setting and, when required, operating a range of advanced CNC and fabrication machinery, including:

    CNC machining centres
    Laser cutting systems
    Press Brake machines
    XYZ CNC machines
    Flatbed CNC Routers
    Aluminium machining equipment
    You will use Radan, Mastercam and FOMCAM to create and optimise CNC programmes, with training available for candidates who have strong experience with alternative programming software.

    Key Responsibilities

    Create, optimise and implement CNC programmes across a range of machinery.
    Set up machinery, including tooling, calibration and parameter selection.
    Interpret engineering drawings, CAD files and technical specifications.
    Carry out first-off inspections and ongoing quality checks.
    Troubleshoot machine, software and production issues.
    Make adjustments to programmes and tooling to maintain quality and efficiency.
    Perform tooling changes and routine machine maintenance where required.
    Maintain accurate programme, tooling and production documentation.
    Work closely with Engineering, Production and Quality teams to improve processes and efficiency.
    Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety requirements.
    About You

    The successful candidate will have proven experience programming and operating a range of CNC and fabrication machinery, ideally within an aluminium fabrication, sheet metal, precision engineering or similar manufacturing environment.

    You will ideally have:

    Strong CNC programming and machining experience.
    Experience with laser cutting and/or Press Brake machinery.
    Experience working with aluminium, steel and sheet-based materials.
    Proficiency in Radan, Mastercam and/or FOMCAM, although training can be provided.
    The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and 3D models.
    A strong understanding of CNC machining principles and cutting parameters.
    Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
    The ability to work independently, meet deadlines and perform under pressure.
    Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across the business.
    A structured approach to working within a demanding, customer-driven manufacturing environment.
    Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement would be advantageous, as would forklift or overhead crane certification.
