How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A well established and growing M&E contractor is looking for a Junior/Intermediate Document Controller to join their team and support a major live project in Victoria, London.

    This is a great opportunity for someone with some construction administration or document control experience who is looking to develop their career within the M&E sector. The project is being delivered for a well regarded, established main contractor, using Viewpoint as the main document management system.

    The successful candidate will initially focus on supporting the Victoria project, with the role expected to develop over time into a position where you will have responsibility for document control across multiple live sites.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Manage and maintain project documentation using Viewpoint.

    * Upload, issue and distribute drawings, specifications and technical documentation.

    * Keep drawing and document registers fully up to date.

    * Maintain revision trackers and ensure teams are working from the latest information.

    * Monitor incoming and outgoing documentation.

    * Liaise with project managers, engineers, site teams, subcontractors and the main contractor.

    * Ensure drawings and documents are correctly named, filed and distributed.

    * Track submissions, approvals and outstanding information.

    * Carry out general project administration where required.

    * Support the wider project team with document control and administrative duties.

    * Ensure project information is organised, accurate and easily accessible.

    About You

    We're looking for someone at Junior to Intermediate level who has some experience within construction, ideally in document control, project administration or construction administration.

    You'll ideally have:

    * Previous experience within the construction or M&E environment.

    * Some understanding of construction documentation and project processes.

    * Experience with a document management system is beneficial, particularly Viewpoint.

    * Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.

    * Good communication skills and confidence dealing with different stakeholders.

    * The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.

    * Good IT skills and the ability to pick up new systems quickly.

    * A genuine interest in developing a career within construction.

    Personality & Character

    Character fit is extremely important for this role. The ideal person will be:

    * Energetic and enthusiastic.

    * Positive, approachable and confident.

    * A strong communicator.

    * Hardworking and reliable.

    * Proactive and willing to take ownership.

    * Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

    * Keen to learn and develop.

    * Someone who isn't afraid to get stuck in and put the work in.

    Career Development

    The successful candidate will initially become an integral part of the team on the Victoria project, developing their knowledge of document control, construction processes and the company's systems. As the business continues to grow and additional projects come online, there will be an opportunity to progress into a role overseeing document control across several sites at once.

    This is a genuine opportunity for someone who wants to build a long term career rather than simply take their next job.

    About the Company

    The employer is a growing specialist M&E contractor with an expanding project pipeline and a strong focus on delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical installations. They work alongside some of the UK's leading main contractors on significant construction projects and are continuing to expand their team. The successful candidate will join a business where there is plenty of opportunity to learn, take responsibility and progress as the company grows.

    If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, please apply with your CV. If your experience is a good fit for the role, I’ll be in touch to discuss the opportunity in more detail and arrange a confidential conversation
