DDS Developer - Software Engineer

Software Engineer - Data Distribution| Bristol | Hybrid

We're supporting a leading engineering organisation in the search for a Software Design Engineer to join a highly skilled team developing advanced communications and data solutions within a complex, safety-critical environment.

Working Pattern: Hybrid (predominantly site-based)
Security Requirements: Candidates must be eligible for UK security clearance.

The Role

This is a hands-on software design position focused on the development and evolution of a core communications data model used across a common product platform.

Working alongside Software Architects and Technical Leads, you'll play a key role in system architecture, interface design, data modelling, and software design activities. You'll also provide technical guidance to engineering teams, drive best practice, and support the delivery of high-quality, reliable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Support system architecture and design activities
Define and develop interface specifications (IDL)
Create reusable component templates and design patterns
Lead data modelling and data design initiatives
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to developers
Drive innovation and continuous improvement across software development teams

What We're Looking For

Strong software design and architecture experience
Advanced data modelling and analysis skills
Experience with Interface Definition Languages (IDL)
Ability to influence technical direction and design decisions
Strong stakeholder engagement and mentoring capabilities
