How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Welding & Quality EngineerFull-Time | Permanent
    £18.00 - £20.00 per hour (DOE)

    We're recruiting for an experienced Welding & Quality Engineer to join a growing sheet metal and fabrication manufacturer supplying high-quality components and assemblies to leading OEM customers in the construction, agricultural, and off-highway vehicle sectors.

    This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in welding, quality assurance, customer projects, and continuous improvement within a modern manufacturing environment.

    What you'll be doing:
    Developing and maintaining welding procedures and qualifications

    Supporting welder training and resolving welding-related quality issues

    Preparing and managing PPAP submissions

    Creating and maintaining Control Plans, PFMEAs, Process Flows, and Inspection Plans

    Investigating non-conformances and leading corrective actions

    Managing customer and supplier quality concerns

    Supporting audits and continuous improvement initiatives

    Working closely with production, engineering, and inspection teams

    Supporting new product introductions and manufacturing improvements

    What we're looking for:
    Experience within fabrication, sheet metal, or heavy engineering

    Strong knowledge of MIG/MAG welding processes

    PPAP and quality documentation experience

    Ability to read engineering drawings and weld symbols

    Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions

    Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach

    Desirable:
    IWE, IWT, or CSWIP qualifications

    Knowledge of ISO 3834 and ISO 9001

    Experience working with OEM customers

    Understanding of GD&T, CMM inspection, or robotic welding
