How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Student Recruitment & Outreach Coordinator

    Locations: Manchester

    Position Type: Permanent

    Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

    Working Pattern: Monday to Friday/ 9am to 5pm/ 5 days in the office

    Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum depending on experience

    Reports to: Head of Business Development

    Role Overview

    Are you a confident communicator with a passion for connecting students to higher education opportunities? UKMC is seeking a proactive Student Recruitment & Outreach Coordinator to join our Business Development team. In this role, you will build and maintain strong relationships with schools, colleges, and community partners to promote UKMC’s higher education pathways. You will play a key role in identifying, engaging, and guiding prospective students—helping them take the next step toward their academic and career goals.

    Key Responsibilities

    ·Develop and manage partnerships with schools, sixth forms, and further education colleges

    ·Plan and deliver presentations, workshops, and recruitment events to promote UKMC programmes

    ·Coordinate outreach activities to engage and attract prospective students

    ·Work closely with the Business Development team to meet recruitment targets and growth objectives

    ·Act as a brand ambassador for UKMC at internal and external events

    ·Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective students through effective relationship management

    ·Provide guidance and information on courses, admissions, and student support services

    ·Track, analyse, and report on recruitment activity and conversion rates

    ·Collaborate with marketing and admissions teams to ensure a seamless student journey

    Stakeholder Engagement

    Establish strong links with:

    ·School career advisors and teachers

    ·College tutors and leadership teams

    ·Community organisations and youth groups

    ·Maintain regular communication to ensure consistent student referrals and engagement

    Business Development Focus

    ·Support the achievement of student recruitment targets

    ·Identify new partnership opportunities to expand UKMC’s reach

    ·Contribute to strategic outreach plans aligned with market growth and demand

    ·Represent UKMC in a professional and impactful manner to strengthen its reputation

    Skills, Qualifications & Experience

    ·Experience in student recruitment, outreach, sales, or business development

    ·Strong networking and relationship-building skills

    ·Excellent presentation and communication abilities

    ·Ability to influence and engage young people and stakeholders

    ·Good organisational and time management skills

    ·Data-driven mindset with the ability to monitor performance and outcomes

    ·Proficient in IT systems (CRM tools, Microsoft Office, etc.)

    Desirable

    ·Understanding of the UK higher education sector

    ·Experience working with schools, colleges, or youth engagement programmes

    ·Advice & Guidance qualification (or willingness to work towards)

    Additional Requirements

    ·Willingness to travel for outreach activities and events

    ·Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends

    ·Full UK driving licence (preferred)
