How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    CSS Recruitment & Training are currently recruiting General Operatives to join a growing metal manufacturing facility in Kings Lynn.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a modern manufacturing environment with a choice of three shift patterns, competitive pay, shift allowances and the opportunity for a pay increase following a six-month review.

    The Role

    As a General Operative, you will be working within a busy metal manufacturing environment. The role is physically demanding and will involve a range of general manual duties, including lifting, bending and other hands-on production work.

    The successful candidate will also need to hold a valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence and be confident operating a forklift safely within a busy industrial environment.

    Shift Patterns

    1. Lates – 4 Days

    * Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday

    * 3:00pm – 3:00am

    * £14.00 per hour basic

    * + £1.00 per hour shift allowance

    * Six-month review with potential increase of up to £3.00 per hour, depending on experience

    2. Lates – 5 Days

    * Monday to Friday

    * 3:00pm – Midnight

    * £14.00 per hour basic

    * + £1.00 per hour shift allowance

    * Six-month review with potential increase of up to £3.00 per hour, depending on experience

    3. Nights – 5 Days

    * Sunday to Thursday

    * 9:00pm – 6:00am

    * £14.50 per hour basic

    * + £1.00 per hour shift allowance

    * Six-month review with potential increase of up to £3.00 per hour, depending on experience

    Requirements

    * Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence – essential

    * Valid Driving Licence – essential

    * Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, production or industrial environment is advantageous

    * Physically fit and able to carry out manual work

    * Comfortable with lifting, bending and other physically demanding duties

    * Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team

    * Good awareness of workplace health and safety
