How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: HGV Technician
    Location: Crawley
    Salary: £45,160k Basic
    Shift: 4on 4off Days 
    Overtime: Paid at an enhanced rate

    We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established HGV maintenance company with depots across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an experienced HGV Technician to their Crawley workshop.

    The Role:

    As an HGV Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of commercial vehicles and specialist airport equipment. Working alongside a skilled workshop team, your duties will include:
    Carrying out routine servicing and scheduled maintenance
    Conducting vehicle inspections and safety checks
    Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
    Completing reactive maintenance and breakdown repairs
    Preparing vehicles for MOT inspections
    Ensuring all work is completed efficiently and in line with manufacturer and DVSA standardsVehicles & Equipment You'll Work On:

    This is a varied role where you'll gain experience working on a wide range of vehicles and equipment, including:
    Ground Support Equipment (GSE)
    Aircraft tugs
    Baggage trolleys
    Electric vehicles (EVs)
    Vans
    HGVs
    Minibuses
    Airport shuttle buses
    Specialist airport vehiclesWhat We're Looking For:

    Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician
    NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)
    Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
    Class 1 (C+E) licence is advantageous but not essentialWhat's on Offer:
