How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced, enthusiastic and creative Lead Wellbeing & Lifestyle Coordinator to join a high-quality nursing, residential and dementia care home in the Waterlooville area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about improving the quality of life of older people and creating a vibrant, engaging and inclusive environment for residents.

This is a hands-on leadership role, combining the organisation and delivery of activities with responsibility for coordinating the wider wellbeing programme, supporting the activities team and developing relationships with volunteers and the local community.

Please note: Sponsorship is not available for this position.

    The Role

As Lead Wellbeing & Lifestyle Coordinator, you will take responsibility for developing and delivering a varied programme of meaningful activities, events and experiences tailored to residents' individual interests, abilities and preferences.

You will work closely with residents, families, colleagues, volunteers and local organisations to create opportunities that encourage social interaction, mental stimulation, independence and physical wellbeing.

You will also lead and support the wellbeing and activities team, ensuring rotas are effectively managed and that residents receive a consistently high standard of engagement and support.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Plan, organise and deliver a varied programme of activities that promotes residents' social, emotional, mental and physical wellbeing.

    * Develop activities that reflect residents' individual interests, backgrounds, abilities and personal preferences.

    * Assess each resident's social and lifestyle needs when they move into the home and develop personalised activity plans.

    * Take time to get to know residents individually and identify meaningful activities that provide enjoyment, purpose and stimulation.

    * Lead, support and motivate the wellbeing and activities team.

    * Complete team supervisions, appraisals and provide ongoing support and guidance.

    * Ensure an effective staff rota is maintained to provide appropriate activity coverage.

    * Organise larger events and celebrations including seasonal activities, themed events, special occasions and entertainment.

    * Produce and maintain a monthly programme of activities and events.

    * Work closely with the Home Manager and wider care team to continuously develop the wellbeing programme.

    * Build relationships with local businesses, community groups, schools, charities and other organisations.

    * Recruit, coordinate and support volunteers who can contribute to activities and events within the home.

    * Encourage residents to remain connected with the wider community by identifying suitable external activities, events and excursions.

    * Help organise and support residents during community outings and day trips.

    * Promote upcoming activities and events through appropriate social media and online channels.

    * Take photographs and provide updates, where appropriate and with the necessary consent, to showcase activities and resident engagement.

    * Manage expenditure responsibly and ensure activities remain within the agreed budget.

    * Maintain accurate records relating to activities, resident participation and wellbeing plans.

    * Work collaboratively with residents' families and encourage their involvement in events and activities where appropriate.

    * Maintain a safe and inclusive environment during all activities and outings.

    About You

We are looking for someone who is naturally positive, organised, engaging and people-focused, with the confidence to lead both a team and a busy activities programme.

    Ideally, you will have:

    * Previous experience working within activities, wellbeing, lifestyle or recreational services; within a care home, nursing home, residential care or dementia care environment would be highly advantageous.

    * Previous experience supervising or leading a small team.

    * Strong organisational & planning skills and communication and interpersonal skills.

    * A creative approach to developing activities and events.

    * The ability to engage residents with different needs, abilities and interests.

    * Confidence building relationships with families, volunteers and community organisations.

    * Good administrative and record-keeping skills.

    * The ability to manage a programme of activities within an agreed budget.

    * Flexibility to work some weekends as part of a rota.

A full UK driving licence would be desirable, as you may occasionally be required to drive a minibus for resident outings and external activities.

    Benefits

The successful candidate will have access to a range of employee benefits which may include:

Paid breaks | Staff uniform | Staff meals | Workplace pension | Employee Assistance Programme | Employee wellbeing support | Retail discount scheme | Cycle scheme | Eye care benefits | Refer a Friend scheme | Employee reward vouchers | Company recognition awards

    Hours

40 hours per week, working on a rota basis.

Some weekend working will be required to support activities, events and resident outings.

If you are an experienced Activities Coordinator, Wellbeing Coordinator, Lifestyle Coordinator, Senior Activities Coordinator or Activities Lead looking for your next opportunity within a rewarding care environment, we would love to hear from you
