How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Sales Executive

    Location: Walsall

Salary: £29,000–£32,000 per annum + benefits

    Employment Type: Permanent

    The Role

We are looking for an experienced Sales Executive to join an established business based in Walsall, supplying safety, construction and site equipment to customers across the infrastructure and construction sectors.

This is an existing account management and sales role, focused on developing and growing a portfolio of established customer accounts rather than cold calling or new business development.

You will build strong customer relationships, understand their requirements, manage enquiries and quotations, and identify opportunities to increase revenue and customer spend.

The business offers an extensive range of more than 5,000 products, including PPE and workwear, traffic management equipment, safety and lifting products and general site equipment. It also provides bespoke signage and steel fabrication, alongside specialist servicing, calibration and inspection of safety and lifting equipment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Account Management & Sales Growth

Manage and develop a portfolio of existing key customer accounts.

Build strong, long-term relationships with customers.

Understand customer requirements and identify opportunities to increase account spend.

Promote relevant products and services across the wider product range.

Work towards agreed revenue, account growth and order conversion targets.

Proactively manage accounts to encourage repeat business and secure future orders.

    Quotations & Customer Enquiries

    Prepare accurate and timely quotations.

Follow up on outstanding quotations and identify opportunities to convert enquiries into orders.

Handle customer enquiries professionally and efficiently.

Provide appropriate product and service guidance to customers.

Maintain accurate records of customer communications and opportunities.

    Order Processing & Customer Service

Process customer orders and requisitions accurately and promptly.

Ensure all information required to complete orders is obtained from customers.

Keep customers updated regarding stock availability, transport and delivery schedules.

Resolve customer queries and issues promptly, escalating where required.

Monitor orders to help ensure they are delivered accurately, on time and in full.

    Internal Coordination

Work closely with procurement, logistics and stores teams to ensure successful order fulfilment.

Maintain effective communication with suppliers and internal departments.

Manage incoming customer requests and ensure they are prioritised and actioned.

Support the returns and credit processes where required.

    Systems & Compliance

Ensure customer communications, orders and supporting documentation are accurately recorded within company systems.

Use CRM and other internal systems efficiently and accurately.

Work within company processes, SLAs and KPIs.

Contribute to continuous improvement of sales and customer service processes.

Comply with company HSEQ policies and procedures.

    About You

We are looking for someone with previous sales or account management experience who is confident managing existing customer relationships and taking ownership of a portfolio of accounts.

    You will ideally have:

Previous sales or account management experience.

A proven track record of developing existing accounts and increasing customer spend.

Experience working towards sales, revenue and account growth targets.

    Strong customer relationship management skills.

    Excellent influencing and negotiation skills.

Confidence handling quotations and customer enquiries.

Strong organisation and attention to detail.

Experience using CRM and other computer systems.

The ability to manage a high volume of calls, enquiries and orders while maintaining accuracy.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

The ability to work collaboratively with sales, procurement, logistics and stores teams.

A proactive, customer-focused approach to account management.

    Desirable Experience

Product knowledge or experience within construction, infrastructure or traffic management.

Experience working with PPE, workwear, safety equipment, lifting equipment or site equipment.

Experience using SOP systems such as Insphire.

Experience within construction, traffic management or another product-led environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

    Key Performance Measures

Success in the role will be measured against:

Monthly revenue and account growth targets.

Growth in customer spend and repeat business.

Conversion of quotations and high-value opportunities.

    Customer retention and relationship development.

    Accurate and timely order processing.

    Meeting agreed SLAs and KPIs.

Effective management of customer enquiries and the central sales mailbox.

Accuracy of sales documentation and credits.

    Positive customer feedback.

Ensuring orders are delivered on time and in full.

    Benefits

    £29,000–£32,000 salary.

    Company pension.

    Life assurance.

    Private medical cover.

25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays and loyalty days.
