How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are recruiting for an experienced and passionate Hospitality Supervisor to join a high-quality residential and dementia care home in the Waterlooville and Denmead area.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in hospitality, hotel management, catering management or a similar customer-focused environment who takes pride in delivering exceptional standards of service.

    Reporting to the General Manager, you will take responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day hospitality operations within the home, ensuring residents, families and visitors receive a consistently welcoming, professional and enjoyable experience.

    The Role

    As Hospitality Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring all hospitality services operate smoothly and to a high standard. You will oversee areas including dining service, catering standards, housekeeping, customer service and hospitality support for events and functions.

    You will work closely with the General Manager, Head Chef and wider care home team to ensure residents are comfortable, their individual needs and preferences are respected, and the environment remains clean, welcoming and well maintained.

    You will also be responsible for supporting and developing team members, monitoring service standards and helping to maintain effective budgetary control.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Oversee the day-to-day hospitality operations throughout the care home.

    * Maintain consistently high standards of cleanliness, presentation and customer service.

    * Monitor and manage departmental budgets, ensuring expenditure remains controlled and approved suppliers are used.

    * Support the recruitment, induction, training and ongoing management of hospitality team members.

    * Ensure employees understand the standards expected of them and that these standards are maintained.

    * Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure residents receive high-quality, enjoyable and well-presented meals.

    * Monitor food presentation, menu standards and overall dining experience.

    * Ensure catering services provide excellent quality while remaining commercially responsible and value for money.

    * Regularly monitor dining areas during mealtimes to ensure service standards are maintained.

    * Engage with residents to understand their preferences and ensure hospitality services meet their individual needs.

    * Ensure residents, relatives and visitors receive a warm, professional and helpful service at all times.

    * Support events, celebrations and functions within the home, ensuring hospitality arrangements are organised to a high standard.

    * Attend evening and weekend events where required.

    * Carry out regular audits of hospitality areas, cleanliness, presentation and service standards.

    * Support purchasing and stock control processes.

    * Ensure appropriate procedures relating to food preparation, presentation, hygiene and service are followed.

    * Work collaboratively with the wider care home team to maintain excellent customer service standards.

    * Identify training or development requirements and support team members in improving their performance.

    * Help create a positive, welcoming and professional environment for residents, visitors and colleagues.

    About You

    We are looking for someone who is confident leading a hospitality operation and understands the importance of creating an excellent experience for residents and their families.

    You should have:

    * Previous experience within hospitality, hotel management, catering management or a similar supervisory position

    * Strong customer service skills | communication and interpersonal skills

    * Knowledge of budget control and purchasing

    * Experience monitoring service and environmental standards

    * Good knowledge of food preparation, presentation and dining service

    * Strong organisational and time-management skills

    * The ability to lead, motivate and develop team members

    * High attention to detail

    * A professional, approachable and positive attitude

    * The flexibility to work some evenings and weekends when functions or events take place

    Experience within a care home, healthcare or residential environment would be advantageous, although candidates with strong hospitality management experience from hotels, restaurants or catering environments are also encouraged to apply.
