How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Refrigeration Service Engineer

    Location: Lincoln (Covering UK Wide)

    Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

    Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7am – 5pm (50 paid hours per week)

    We’re looking for a Refrigeration Service Engineer to join an engineering team based in Lincoln. This is an excellent opportunity for an Engineer looking for long-term career progression within a business that genuinely values new ideas and continuous improvement.

    This role is based out of Lincoln, however you’ll work across a range of sites throughout the UK.

    On-Call & Overtime:

    * 1 in 7-week call-out rota

    * £100 per day standby payment

    * Minimum 4 hours paid at double time if called out

    * If late-night call-outs impact rest periods, the following working day is provided as paid leave

    Salary & Benefits:

    * £20.00 per hour for engineers with relevant experience

    * Up to £25.00 per hour for highly experienced engineers, particularly those with Ammonia refrigeration expertise

    The Role:

    As a Refrigeration Service Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:

    * Planned preventative maintenance

    * Service, breakdown and repair work on refrigeration systems

    * Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults

    * Completing service reports and maintenance documentation

    * Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard

    * Participating in the on-call rota

    This is a field-based role requiring regular travel, with a company van will be provided.

    What We’re Looking For

    Essential:

    * F-Gas Category 1 Certification

    * Level 3 qualification in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering

    * Full UK Driving Licence

    * Experience working on commercial or industrial refrigeration systems

    * Fault-finding skills across electrical and mechanical equipment

    Desirable:

    * Ammonia refrigeration experience

    * Background in food manufacturing, cold storage or supermarket refrigeration

    * Applicants living within approximately 45 minutes of Lincoln
