How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    White Label is working with an engineering and manufacturing business that requires a Applications Engineer to join their team.

    As Applications Engineer, you will be the key link between engineering capability and customer requirements - reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, developing technical solutions, and turning ideas into realistic product application proposals. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that suits a creative, proactive engineer who enjoys problem solving across a varied workload.

    My client is offering a salary of £33,000 – £38,000 + bonus.

    * 36.25 hours per week

    * 35 days holiday including bank holidays and Christmas shutdown

    * Pension

    Duties of the Applications Engineer

    * Reading, interpreting and evaluating complex engineering and manufacturing drawings.

    * Producing 3D assemblies and engineering drawings using SolidWorks or similar CAD software.

    * Developing technical solutions to meet customer requirements.

    * Turning ideas into realistic product application proposals through creative and innovative thinking.

    * Assisting in the development of new products designed to meet industry standards.

    * Maintaining accurate file management and ensuring safety and risk awareness when effecting product specifications.

    * Working collaboratively as part of the engineering team while also being capable of working hands-on.

    Experience Required of the Applications Engineer

    * Minimum HNC/HND in a relevant engineering discipline (mechanical or structural).

    * Minimum 1 years’ experience in an industrial engineering, design or technical support role.

    * Proven ability to read and interpret complex engineering and manufacturing drawings.

    * Proficiency in 3D CAD - SolidWorks preferred; equivalent software considered.

    * Desirable: knowledge of structural steel fabrication, casting, pressing or forging; familiarity with CRM systems.

    * Strong communication skills, self-motivated and reliable, with good time management.
