What You'll Be Doing
As a Cleaner, you'll be responsible for delivering high standards of cleanliness across council properties. Working independently and as part of a supportive team, your duties will include:
Cleaning offices, corridors, stairways, and communal areas.
Sweeping, mopping, polishing floors, and vacuuming carpets.
Cleaning and sanitising toilet facilities.
Using mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
Cleaning fixtures, fittings, and other assigned areas to a high standard.
Supporting council events when required, including cloakroom and light kitchen duties.
Following all health and safety procedures and customer care standards.
Helping maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
Experience carrying out cleaning duties, including the use of cleaning equipment.
Experience using and storing cleaning chemicals safely in line with health and safety regulations.
A strong understanding of health and safety responsibilities.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
The ability to work effectively on your own and as part of a busy team.
