How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Building Surveyor / Senior Building Surveyor
    Leeds
Attractive Salary & Extensive Benefits Package
    £37,000 - £55,000

An opportunity to build a serious career within one of the UK's leading building consultancy environments
This is not simply another Building Surveyor vacancy. We are representing a highly respected, internationally recognised construction and property consultancy that is continuing to invest in its Building Surveying capability and is looking to appoint an ambitious Building Surveyor or Senior Building Surveyor. The opportunity combines high-quality project work, exceptional clients, professional development and genuine long-term career progression within an established and highly regarded team.

    The Opportunity

Working alongside experienced Building Surveyors and senior property professionals, you will become involved in the delivery of a diverse portfolio of Building Surveying instructions across both the public and private sectors.

The client base ranges from prominent private property owners and institutional clients through to major public-realm organisations, providing exposure to some of the most interesting and technically challenging Building Surveying work available within the market.

Projects and instructions will provide experience across areas including:

    • Building surveys and technical due diligence
    • Condition surveys and asset management
    • Refurbishment and improvement projects
    • Contract administration
    • Planned maintenance programmes
    • Defect diagnosis and building pathology
    • Landlord and tenant matters
    • Project delivery from initial brief through to completion
    • Strategic advice surrounding property portfolios and built assets

Rather than being restricted to a narrow area of Building Surveying, you will have the opportunity to develop a broad and commercially valuable range of expertise.

    Build the Career You Want

One of the strongest aspects of this opportunity is the emphasis placed on career development.
For somebody working towards chartership, there is an established environment in which to develop professionally, gain broader experience and receive meaningful support towards the RICS APC.
For an MRICS Building Surveyor, the opportunity is equally compelling.
There is a genuine pathway to progress through the organisation, take greater responsibility for clients and projects, develop commercial and leadership capability and ultimately work towards a senior-level appointment.
The objective is not simply to recruit somebody into a vacancy. It is to identify an individual with the potential to build a long-term career within the business.

    Who Are We Looking For?

We are interested in speaking with Building Surveyors who can demonstrate:
    • Approximately three years or more relevant Building Surveying experience
    • A strong Building Surveying degree or equivalent professional background
    • Experience gained within a consultancy or private-practice environment
    • Strong technical Building Surveying knowledge
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • The confidence to work directly with clients and professional teams
    • A genuine desire to continue developing professionally

Applications are welcomed from both chartered and near-chartered Building Surveyors, including ambitious candidates seeking stronger APC support and a clearer pathway towards MRICS.

    Why Explore This Opportunity?

Beyond the quality of the work, our client has developed an excellent reputation for investing in its people.
The overall this proposition includes a highly competitive salary and an impressive range of benefits, professional development opportunities and structured career progression.

Most importantly, this is an organisation where an ambitious Building Surveyor can see what the next stages of their career could look like.
You may be perfectly happy where you are.
You may not even consider yourself actively looking.

This is still one of those opportunities worth exploring!

A confidential conversation will allow us to explain the organisation, team, project portfolio, career pathway and benefits package in considerably more detail.
