About the Role
We are looking for experienced Shuttering Carpenters to join a major civil engineering project in Tilbury. You will be working on reinforced concrete structures, responsible for constructing high-quality timber and system formwork according to engineering drawings.
Key Responsibilities
Constructing and installing timber formwork, panel systems (e.g., Peri, Doka, MEVA), columns, beams, and slab decks.
Reading and working directly from technical drawings and structural blueprints.
Securing formwork with ties, anchors, and props to withstand concrete pouring.
Stripping (striking) formwork safely after concrete curing.
Maintaining high standards of site safety and structural quality.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Shuttering / Formwork Carpenter on commercial or civil sites.
Relevant trade qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Formwork, CSCS Blue/Gold Card, or equivalent national certs).
Full set of hand tools and 110V/cordless power tools suitable for formwork.
Strong understanding of site safety protocols (SSTS/SMSTS desirable but not essential).
Valid work authorization and checkable site references.
