How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Are you someone who enjoys helping children feel more confident in the classroom and takes pride in seeing pupils make progress?

    Academics is working with a well-established primary school in Monmouthshire that is looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant from September 2026.

    * Previous experience working with children in a school or similar setting is desirable.
    * A genuine interest in helping pupils who require additional support with their learning.

    * The ability to adapt activities and provide appropriate support for individual pupils and small groups.
    * A calm, patient and encouraging approach.
    * Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
    * Good organisation and classroom management skills.
    * An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
    * Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
    * Two recent professional references.

    Flexible, long-term and permanent opportunities to suit your career goals.If you're passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and would like to make a real difference within a primary school, we'd love to hear from you.
