How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Behaviour Mentor - Reading

    Location: Reading
    Start Date: ASAP
    Pay: £90 - £105 per day

    Are you confident, resilient and passionate about helping young people overcome behavioural and emotional barriers?

    A supportive and inclusive school in Reading is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join their team as soon as possible. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships with young people and is committed to helping pupils develop the confidence and strategies needed to succeed.

    As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who may display challenging behaviour or have social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. You will provide consistent support, help pupils understand their behaviour and encourage positive strategies for managing emotions, triggers and difficult situations.

    As a Behaviour Mentor, your responsibilities will include:

    Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with behavioural needs
    Building positive, trusting and consistent relationships with young people
    Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and managing triggers
    Implementing individual behaviour strategies and support plans
    Encouraging positive choices, routines, boundaries and expectations
    Using calm and effective de-escalation techniques when required
    Helping pupils re-engage with learning following periods of dysregulation
    Supporting pupils to develop confidence, resilience and independence
    Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and other professionalsThe school is looking for a Behaviour Mentor who is calm under pressure, consistent in their approach and confident when dealing with challenging situations. Previous experience within education, youth work, residential care, mental health, SEN or alternative provision would be highly beneficial.

    This Behaviour Mentor position would also suit graduates interested in pursuing careers in psychology, counselling, social work, youth work, teaching or other professions supporting children and young people.

    You will become part of a collaborative team where the Behaviour Mentor will receive support from experienced staff and gain valuable experience in behaviour management, SEMH and SEN.
