How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Client:

Our client is one of the world's leading engineering and technical services organisations, employing over 8,000 specialists across the UK. They are renowned for tackling the most complex challenges in science, sustainability, and clean energy while fostering a supportive, inclusive workplace.

They provide an exceptional employee benefits suite, including free single private medical cover, digital GP services, enhanced parental leave, and full funding for continuous professional development and memberships. Through their community initiatives, they also support matched funding, paid volunteering days, and charitable giving.

    About the Opportunity:

This role is embedded directly within a landmark, multi-billion-pound UK nuclear power new-build mega-project (Hinkley Point C). Generating 3.26GW of secure, low-carbon electricity, this mega-project is vital to the UK's energy security and Net Zero ambitions.

As the Senior Risk Analyst, you will act as the face of risk management for your nominated programme/area. You will be accountable for generating, analysing, and verifying risk information, ensuring project progress and forecasting data are robust, actionable, and aligned with overall delivery objectives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Risk Governance & Reporting

Risk Management Leadership: Act as the key risk contact for your assigned area, providing guidance and assurance to stakeholders to effectively identify, analyse, and manage risk outputs.

Data Management & Systems: Ensure all risk and opportunity data for the programme area is accurately maintained within enterprise risk software systems (e.g., Active Risk Manager / ARM).

Reporting & Dashboards: Deliver high-quality risk and opportunity reports to strict cycle deadlines, verifying data within Power BI dashboards and presenting insightful metrics to Programme Reviews and Board Meetings.

    Analysis, Support & Challenge

Schedule & Cost Integration: Collaborate closely with Project Controls Managers and Risk Leads to ensure project schedules and cost estimates are informed by high-quality risk data at both delivery and portfolio levels.

Workshop Facilitation: Lead risk, opportunity, and issue reviews, as well as specialist sessions such as scenario planning and Quantitative Risk Analysis.

Commercial Interface: Work alongside programme teams and Tier 1 contractors to evaluate contractor-held risks and programme-level dependencies.

Training & Mentorship: Deliver risk management and software-specific training to project managers, programme teams, and apprentices.

    Candidate Profile:

    Requirements & Experience

Expert Risk Capability: Demonstrable experience operating as a subject matter expert in risk management, with deep knowledge of project controls, risk techniques, and performance insight tools.

Industry Sector: Experience within the nuclear industry or another highly regulated, complex sector (such as defence, energy, or major infrastructure) is essential. Construction environment experience is highly desirable.

Risk Software Proficiency: Practical experience maintaining data within enterprise risk software systems (e.g., ARM) and generating visual analytics via tools like Power BI.

    Qualifications

Education: Degree-level qualification or equivalent in project management, project controls, engineering, or a related field (desirable).

Accreditation: Industry-recognised risk management or project controls certifications (e.g., Management of Risk Practitioner, APM Risk Level 2, or equivalent) are highly advantageous.

    Key Competencies

Analytical & Critical Thinking: Ability to interrogate complex data, challenge assumptions, and identify uncertainties over time to drive informed decision-making.

Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication skills with the confidence to influence, guide, and report directly to Programme Directors and senior project leaders
