How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    • Head of Data & Analytics
    • Hertfordshire | Hybrid Working
    • Salary £80,000 - 120,000 DOE

Can you turn data into commercial advantage?

Our client is a highly respected and growing professional services firm with an outstanding reputation for delivering expert advice to businesses and individuals. As part of an ambitious growth strategy, they are creating a brand-new Head of Data & Analytics role to transform how data is used across the organisation and to develop future client-facing data services.

We're looking for an experienced Head of Data & Analytics who combines technical excellence with commercial thinking.

This is far more than a reporting role. You'll have a deep understanding of statistical methodologies and advanced analytical techniques, but your real strength will be translating complex data into clear, actionable insights that influence senior stakeholders and deliver measurable commercial outcomes.

We're keen to understand the impact you've made. How have your insights increased profitability, improved client experience, streamlined operations or supported strategic decision-making? How have you used data to create genuine business value?

You'll lead the organisation's data strategy, build and develop its analytics capability, and create a culture where data underpins better decisions across the business. You'll also play a pivotal role in modernising processes through automation, low-code solutions and AI-enabled technologies.

We're particularly interested in candidates who have:

    • Led a data and analytics function within a commercial or professional services environment.
    • Applied statistical techniques to solve business problems and communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Developed or significantly enhanced a CRM platform, improving data quality, governance and commercial insight.
    • Delivered workflow automation and low-code solutions using technologies such as Power Automate, Power Apps or SharePoint, creating measurable efficiency gains.
    • Built modern reporting and analytics solutions using Power BI, SQL, Python, Excel and Azure technologies.
    • Successfully led and developed high-performing teams while influencing senior leadership.

This is a rare opportunity to build a strategic function from the ground up, shaping the organisation's data strategy, influencing technology and AI adoption, and ultimately developing a commercial data and analytics offering for clients.

If you're passionate about turning data into business advantage and want to make a lasting impact within an ambitious organisation, we'd love to hear from you.

🔸 Please apply for next steps. We encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds and actively seek to embrace diversity across age, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, race, religion, and sex.

For successful applicants, a recruitment consultant will be in touch via email to schedule a briefing call. We will explain the role in more detail and share the company details before creating a formal application.

Note: Due to the high volume of applications we receive, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
