How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A leading multidisciplinary property consultancy based in Soho, London is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor as part of a significant investment into the growth of their Cost Management team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established national property business and take a prominent role in the delivery and continued development of their professional Quantity Surveying service.

The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will work directly alongside the Cost Management Director, taking responsibility for projects across the full development lifecycle. The role will cover cost planning, procurement, commercial reporting and contract administration, while providing clients with independent and commercially focused PQS advice. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will also manage key client relationships and contribute to winning and developing new business.

With the team entering an important period of expansion, this position offers an ambitious Senior Quantity Surveyor considerably more than project delivery alone. There will be opportunities to mentor junior colleagues, influence service standards and support the wider growth of the Cost Management offering. It would particularly suit a Senior Quantity Surveyor who is comfortable operating independently and wants greater exposure to clients, leadership and business development.

Senior Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities:

Leading cost planning, estimating and benchmarking across multiple commissions

Preparing and managing project budgets, cost plans and financial reporting

Advising clients on procurement strategy and commercial delivery

Managing valuations, change control and final accounts

Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle

Providing independent professional cost management advice to clients

Supporting client development and wider business growth initiatives

Mentoring and developing junior members of the Cost Management team

Senior Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements:

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a closely related construction discipline

    MRICS qualified

Strong professional PQS or UK cost consultancy experience

Confident independently managing projects and client relationships

Detailed understanding of cost planning, procurement and contract administration

Commercially astute with strong written and financial reporting skills

Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities

    In Return:

    £70,000 - £80,000 per annum

    Soho, Central London location

Direct exposure to senior Cost Management leadership

Opportunity to join a team receiving significant investment and support for growth

Excellent scope for further responsibility and career progression

If you are a Senior Quantity Surveyor considering your career opportunities, then please contact Dan McEvoy at Brandon James.
