Bricklayer

We are seeking a skilled Bricklayer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry and construction, demonstrating expertise in various techniques and materials. This role involves working on diverse projects, including new constructions, renovations, and restorations. The Bricklayer will be responsible for building and repairing structures using bricks, concrete blocks, and other materials while ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

Duties

Lay bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials according to specifications and blueprints.

Construct walls, arches, and other structures with precision and attention to detail.

Perform concrete forming, finishing, and rebar installation as required for various projects.

Execute hardscape installations including patios, walkways, and retaining walls.

Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and finishing masonry materials.

Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to ensure accurate project execution.

Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site including carpenters, roofers, and welders to complete projects efficiently.

Maintain a clean work environment while adhering to safety protocols at all times.

Assist in estimating material needs for projects based on construction plans.

Skills

Proficient in masonry techniques including bricklaying, plastering, stucco application, and tile laying.

Strong knowledge of construction practices with experience in renovation projects.

Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is a plus.

Ability to perform carpentry tasks such as frame carpentry and trim carpentry when necessary.

Experience with caulking and metal stud framing is beneficial.

Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues on-site effectively.

Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
