Class 1 Driver
Hourly Rate – £14.82 per hour (plus benefits)
Hours – 45.00 per week Mon – Fri 9hrs per day

As a Class 1 Driver at FCC Environment, you will safely and efficiently operate Class 1 (Category C+E) vehicles within the waste and recycling industry. You will be responsible for the collection, transportation and delivery of waste and recyclable materials while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance and customer service. This role supports operational objectives through safe working practices, environmental compliance and excellent vehicle care.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working five days per week.

What will you be doing?
- Transporting and delivering materials to and from customer sites in a safe and professional manner
- Ensuring all loads are verified and transported in accordance with UK driving regulations
- Completing vehicle inspections before and after use and reporting any defects
- Accurately completing all load and delivery paperwork
- Adapting driving practices to changing road, traffic and weather conditions
- Reporting accidents, incidents, delays or breakdowns in line with company procedures
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness for assigned vehicles and equipment
- Completing daily timesheets and allocated work within required timescales
- Following all Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments and site rules
- Ensuring compliance with Driver Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive requirements and Operator Licence obligations
What are we looking for?
- A full UK Category C+E (Class 1) licence
- A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
- A valid Digital Tachograph Card
- At least two years' experience driving Class 1 vehicles
- Experience transporting waste, recyclables, aggregates or bulk materials would be advantageous
- Good geographical knowledge and route planning skills
- A reliable, safety-conscious and self-motivated approach to work
- The ability to work flexibly to meet operational requirements
