How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Location: South Wales
    Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 + Car Allowance
    Full-time | Permanent

Vibe Recruit is delighted to be working on behalf of an established and growing business to recruit an experienced Estimator to join their Facilities Management team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator with experience within Facilities Management, construction, building maintenance or a similar environment to take ownership of estimating a varied range of works across commercial supermarket sites.

The projects are diverse and can include petrol forecourt rebuilds, commercial roofing projects and general building and maintenance works, meaning no two projects will necessarily be the same.

The role is predominantly office based, with much of the work completed through desktop estimating. There will, however, be occasional travel to customer sites to carry out surveys and understand project requirements. Travel will form a relatively small part of the position and could cover locations from Bristol through South Wales and West Wales, and occasionally into Cornwall.

    Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate estimates, specifications and quotations for a variety of facilities management and construction projects.
Manage the quotation process from initial enquiry through to final submission.
Carry out desktop estimating, reviewing drawings, specifications and project information to accurately scope works.
Conduct occasional site surveys where required to establish project requirements and site-specific considerations.
Calculate project costs including labour, materials, tools, equipment and plant.
Ensure quotations are commercially accurate and aligned with required profit margins.
Produce detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs), ensuring everything required is identified ahead of project commencement.
Develop clear and accurate scopes of work based on customer requirements.
Work closely with contractors, suppliers and internal operational teams to ensure projects are accurately costed and planned.
Prepare relevant project documentation, including consideration of health & safety requirements and site restrictions.
Ensure quotations are completed within agreed customer service levels and timescales.
Maintain proactive communication with customers throughout the estimating process.
Attend customer meetings where required and support the wider team with new business opportunities.About You

We are looking for someone with previous estimating experience gained within Facilities Management, construction, building maintenance or a related environment.

You may currently be working as an Estimator, FM Estimator, Construction Estimator, Building Estimator, Small Works Estimator or in a similar commercial role.

We would also be very interested in hearing from individuals who have previously owned or managed their own business within the facilities management, construction or building maintenance sector, where they have been responsible for surveying, costing and quoting their own works.

    You will ideally have:

Previous experience estimating facilities management, construction or building works.
Strong commercial awareness and the ability to produce accurate, profitable quotations.
Experience interpreting drawings and technical specifications.
An understanding of labour, material, plant and equipment costs.
Experience producing scopes of work and project costings.
    CAD experience.
Good IT skills, including competency with Excel.
Knowledge of Sage 200 would be advantageous.
CSCS, IOSH, SMSTS or similar qualifications would be beneficial.
A good understanding of relevant health & safety and industry legislation.
    Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
Excellent organisation, attention to detail and problem-solving ability. What's on Offer?

Salary of £35,000 - £42,000, dependent on experience.
    Car allowance.
    Quarterly performance bonus
    Healthcare plan
Christmas shutdown - without using your annual leave allowance
    Free on-site parking
Predominantly office-based role with occasional site travel
A great company ethos and supportive working environment
Varied estimating work across a range of facilities management and construction projects
Opportunity to join an established and growing business
