How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Logistics & Purchasing Administrator
    Location: Stoke-on-Trent
    Salary:Up to £26,500 DOE
    Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm

    About the Role

    We are currently recruiting for an Logistics & Purchasing Administrator to join a well-established and growing business based in Stoke-on-Trent.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, proactive and detail-focused individual looking to develop their career within a busy operations environment. Working as part of the Operations team, you will provide essential administrative support across both Logistics and Purchasing, helping to ensure the smooth and efficient running of day-to-day operations.

    The successful candidate will be confident communicating with internal teams, customers, suppliers and external partners, while being able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Logistics

    Provide general administrative support to the Logistics function
    Coordinate courier, pallet network, haulage and specialist vehicle bookings
    Track deliveries, obtain proof of deliveries (PODs) and follow up outstanding shipments
    Investigate delivery issues, damages, shortages and service failures
    Manage logistics non-conformances and carrier claims
    Liaise with branches, customers, carriers and logistics partners to resolve queries
    Maintain accurate transport records, carrier information and logistics documentation
    Support logistics KPI reporting, route planning and vehicle compliance administration
    Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and logistics projects
    Purchasing & Stock

    Produce purchase requirements and stock replenishment reports
    Monitor purchase orders and chase outstanding deliveries
    Use business data to identify large projects and potential stock requirements
    Support supplier performance monitoring and maintain accurate purchasing records
    Assist with stock valuation, inventory analysis and stock counts
    Investigate stock discrepancies and support corrective actions
    Monitor and report on slow-moving and obsolete stock
    Maintain accurate cost prices and purchasing information within business systems
    Provide administrative support for supplier relationship management
    Support product traceability reporting and maintain associated records
    You will ideally have:

    Strong organisational and administrative skills
    Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
    A proactive and ambitious approach, with a desire to learn and progress
    Confident communication skills, both face-to-face and over the telephone
    Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on both internal and external customers
    The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively

    Qualifications & Core Skills

    GCSEs or equivalent, including English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above
    Good IT literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel
    Previous administration experience is desirable
    Strong written and verbal communication skills
    Good customer and people skills
    Excellent organisational skills
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    Self-motivated with a proactive approach
