How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Graduate / Assistant Surveyor – Lease Advisory
    Birmingham | £35,000 | Commercial Property Consultancy

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Graduate or Assistant Surveyor to join a well-established and highly regarded commercial property consultancy in Birmingham, specialising in landlord and tenant advice across the Midlands and beyond.

This role is open to a broad range of backgrounds. You might already be working in lease advisory and looking for a genuinely high-growth, high-performance environment where you can accelerate your development. Or you might be in a different area of surveying — property management, agency, valuation, or a general practice graduate role — and looking for a clear route into lease consultancy. Either way, if you have some exposure to lease advisory work and want to build a specialist career in it, this is worth a conversation.

    The Role
You will support and increasingly take ownership of a range of lease advisory instructions, gaining exposure to the full breadth of landlord and tenant work. Key responsibilities will include:

Assisting with rent reviews and lease renewals across a variety of asset classes
Undertaking lease due diligence to support acquisitions and disposals
Contributing to rental and capital valuation advice
Supporting lease restructuring, regears, extensions and surrenders
Assisting with dispute resolution matters, including preparation for arbitration and expert witness instructions
Liaising directly with clients, agents and solicitors as your experience develops
Carrying out market research and analysis to support negotiations and reports
    About You

Some exposure to lease advisory/landlord and tenant work, whether through a graduate role, APC training, an assistant surveyor position, or another area of commercial surveying
Open to candidates already specialising in lease advisory, as well as those looking to move into it from a related discipline
Working towards or holding MRICS (APC support available)
Strong analytical and numerical skills with good attention to detail
Confident communicator, keen to develop client-facing experience
Ambitious, proactive and motivated to build a long-term career in lease consultancy
    Full UK driving licence
    Why Join?

A genuine route into specialist lease advisory work, regardless of your current background
A high-growth, high-performance environment for those already working in the discipline
Direct mentorship from experienced lease consultancy professionals
Exposure to a varied and high-quality caseload, including landlord and tenant, asset management and valuation work
    Structured support towards MRICS qualification
Clear progression pathway within a growing, well-regarded team
Competitive salary and benefits package INDS
