How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Higher Level Teaching Assistant
    Pay: £100–£120 per day
    Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary
    Start date: 1 September 2026
    Location: Lewisham, London, SE14
    Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher rates are available for candidates with extensive experience and relevant training. Pay is determined in line with Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), where applicable.

    Transparency Education is recruiting an accomplished Higher Level Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Lewisham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who can lead interventions, cover classes confidently and provide skilled support across the curriculum.
    As the Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will work with teachers and senior leaders to improve pupil progress, maintain continuity of learning and support the wider school day.

    Key responsibilities
    • Deliver planned lessons during short-term teacher absence or PPA time.
    • Lead targeted literacy, numeracy and SEND interventions.
    • Adapt resources and teaching approaches to meet individual needs.
    • Assess pupils’ understanding and provide clear feedback to teachers.
    • Model positive behaviour and maintain established classroom routines.
    • Support less-experienced teaching assistants where appropriate.
    • Contribute to planning meetings, displays and enrichment activities.

    Requirements
    The successful Higher Level Teaching Assistant will have:
    • HLTA status, a Level 4 qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
    • Strong experience in a primary-school classroom.
    • Confidence leading whole classes and small groups.
    • Secure knowledge of the primary curriculum.
    • Effective behaviour-management and communication skills.
    • A professional understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality.
    • Experience supporting pupils with SEND would be advantageous.
