How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client based in Longton is a well established and growing manufacturing business based in Longton, specialising in high-quality metal cutting, bending and welding solutions for a diverse range of customers.
    Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced CNC Programmer to join their machining team on a full-time, permanent basis.

    The Role
    As a CNC Programmer / Operator, you will play a key role within the machining department, taking responsibility for the programming, setting and operation of CNC machinery using Fanuc controls.
    You will ensure components are manufactured accurately, efficiently and consistently, while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
    Key Responsibilities
    Programming CNC machines using Fanuc controls
    Setting and operating CNC machinery
    Reading and interpreting engineering and technical drawings
    Selecting appropriate tooling and setting machine offsets
    Producing components to tight tolerances and specifications
    Inspecting finished components to ensure quality standards are met
    Carrying out routine machine maintenance and basic fault-finding
    Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
    Working in line with company health and safety proceduresThe successful candidate will have:

    Proven experience as a CNC Programmer / Operator
    Strong working knowledge of Fanuc CNC control systems – essential
    The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
    Experience machining components to tight tolerances
    A strong eye for detail and commitment to quality
    Good knowledge of health and safety within a manufacturing environment
    The ability to work independently as well as part of a wider teamWorking Hours
    Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
    Friday: 8:00am – 3:30pm
