How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Design Manager - Residential Development

London | Permanent | £(phone number removed) DOE
A leading UK construction contractor with an established track record delivering high-value residential and regeneration schemes is looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager to join a major project in North West London.
The project is due to commence on site in September 2026, with completion targeted for Q2 2028.

    The Role

You'll have full responsibility for design management and coordination, working closely with consultants, subcontractors, the client team and site-based construction teams. The role is approximately 50% site-based, with the remainder from the company's London Head Office.
    Key responsibilities will include:

Leading and coordinating the project design team and subcontractor design packages
Managing design deliverables, information release schedules and approvals
Carrying out design reviews, buildability assessments and design workshops
Managing CDP and subcontractor design responsibilities
Ensuring compliance with Building Safety Act, Building Regulations, planning and warranty requirements
Chairing design meetings and liaising confidently with the client team
Supporting procurement, commercial reviews and the management of design changes
Maintaining control of design documentation, samples, approvals and regulatory conditions

    About You

You'll be an experienced Design Manager with a strong background in large-scale residential design & build projects, ideally with experience on schemes valued at £100m+.
    You should have:

Proven experience managing complex residential developments
Strong knowledge of BSA and regulatory requirements
Experience coordinating consultant and subcontractor design teams
Excellent communication, organisational and commercial skills
The confidence to lead meetings, challenge decisions and resolve issues quickly
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Procore
A basic understanding of BIM would be advantageous
If you're looking for a Design Manager role where you can take genuine ownership of a major London residential scheme from design through to completion, this is an opportunity worth exploring
