How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Head of Sales

    £75,000 per annum + up to 30% bonus, Outskirts of Lewes, Hybrid Working, Monday to Thursday 9am - 5pm and Fridays 8am - 3pm, Permanent, 21 days Holiday + BH + Christmas shutdown + birthday off, Car Allowance, Pension, Private Health Insurance, Laptop, Mobile Phone, Free Parking.

    The Role

    An excellent opportunity for an experienced Head of Sales to join a successful and growing consumer products business operating within the health, beauty and lifestyle sector. Reporting directly to the CEO and forming part of the senior leadership team, the Head of Sales will take full responsibility for UK sales performance, leading commercial strategy, managing two field-based National Account Managers, and driving profitable growth across retail and distribution channels.

    This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on account management responsibility for a major UK retail customer and offers the opportunity to influence the future growth and direction of the business.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Develop and deliver the UK sales strategy to achieve revenue, profit and market share growth
    Identify and secure new business opportunities across existing and emerging channels
    Lead, coach and develop two National Account Managers to maximise performance
    Manage a major UK retail account, including business planning, negotiations and relationship management
    Take full ownership of UK sales budgets, forecasts and commercial performance
    Monitor customer profitability, trade spend and return on investment
    Work closely with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain and Marketing teams
    Lead sales forecasting and annual business planning activities
    Provide market insight, competitor analysis and commercial recommendations to senior leadership
    Represent the business at customer meetings, industry events and commercial forums

    Requirements

    To be successful in this Head of Sales position, candidates will need significant experience within a senior sales leadership role gained within FMCG and ideally within the health and beauty, wellness or a related sector. Experience managing major UK retail accounts is highly desirable. Proven P&L ownership, budget management, forecasting and commercial planning experience is required, alongside previous leadership experience managing and developing National Account Managers. Strong negotiation, relationship management, analytical and strategic planning skills are essential. Experience working within a privately owned or entrepreneurial business environment would be advantageous, as would a degree in Business, Marketing, Commercial Management or a related discipline. The successful Head of Sales will be commercially driven, highly accountable and capable of building strong customer and stakeholder relationships whilst delivering ambitious growth objectives.

    This role could suit someone who has worked as Head of Commercial, Sales Director, National Sales Manager.
