How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Senior Care Assistant – Full Time – Luxury Retirement Home – AV2019

    Location: Market Harborough, Leicestershire
    Salary: £34,944 Per Annum
    Hours: Full Time – Nights
    Shift Pattern: 8:00pm – 8:00am

    About the Home

We are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Senior Care Assistant on behalf of a unique and well-established residential care service set within beautiful private grounds in the Leicestershire countryside, conveniently located between Market Harborough and Uppingham.

This distinctive home provides care and support for up to 40 residents aged from 35 upwards, including older people, who may require support with a range of complex needs including mental health conditions, dementia, previous alcohol or substance misuse, and behavioural needs.

Set within a magnificent historic property surrounded by landscaped gardens and panoramic views across the Welland Valley, the service offers something very different from a traditional residential care environment.

The home focuses on creating a genuine community rather than placing residents into conventional categories based on age or diagnosis. Residents are encouraged to live alongside one another, build relationships, maintain their independence and support each other wherever possible.

The beautiful surroundings, relaxed atmosphere and community-focused approach provide a calm and welcoming environment where residents can feel at home and continue to enjoy a meaningful quality of life.

    The Role

As a Senior Care Assistant working nights, you will play an important role in ensuring residents receive safe, compassionate and person-centred support throughout the night.

Working as part of a dedicated team, you will provide hands-on care while also taking responsibility for supporting colleagues and maintaining high standards across the service.

    Your responsibilities will include:

Leading and supporting the care team during night shifts
Providing compassionate, person-centred care to residents with complex needs
Supporting residents with personal care and daily living activities
Monitoring residents' wellbeing throughout the night
Administering medication where trained and authorised
Responding appropriately to changing needs or behaviours
Maintaining accurate care records and documentation
Supporting individual care plans and risk assessments
    Promoting dignity, independence and choice
Ensuring a safe, calm and supportive environment overnight
Supporting junior members of staff and leading by example
Communicating effectively with the wider care team regarding residents' needs
    About You

The successful candidate will be an experienced and compassionate care professional who is confident working with individuals who may have complex mental health, dementia or behavioural needs.

    You will ideally have:

Previous experience working as a Senior Care Assistant or similar position
Experience within a residential care, nursing, mental health or specialist care environment
    Strong knowledge of person-centred care
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to remain calm and professional when managing challenging situations
    Good leadership and team-working skills
A caring, patient and respectful approach
    Medication experience is desirable
An NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care is desirable
Most importantly, you will have a genuine passion for supporting people to live with dignity, independence and choice.

    Benefits & Perks

    £34,944 per annum
    Full-time permanent night position
Opportunity to work within a unique and supportive care environment
Beautiful countryside setting with extensive private grounds
    Supportive and close-knit team
    Ongoing training and development
Opportunity to make a genuine difference to residents with complex care needs
A rewarding role within a service that takes a personalised and community-focused approach to care
