How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Quantity Surveyor – Solar Farm Project
    Location: Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire
    Contract: 18-Month Fixed-Term Contract
    Sector: Renewable Energy / Solar

    We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a major solar farm project in the Scunthorpe area on an 18-month fixed-term contract.
    This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in the successful delivery of a large-scale renewable energy project, working closely with the project and commercial teams throughout the construction lifecycle.

    The Role

    As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of the project, ensuring costs are effectively controlled and contractual obligations are met. You will work closely with project managers, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to support the successful delivery of the solar farm.
    Key responsibilities will include:

    Managing project costs and budgets from commencement through to completion.
    Preparing and reviewing valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
    Managing variations, change control and commercial risk.
    Supporting procurement and subcontract management.
    Preparing cost reports and providing accurate commercial forecasts.
    Reviewing and administering subcontractor and supplier contracts.
    Identifying commercial opportunities and mitigating potential financial risks.
    Working closely with the project team to monitor progress, costs and programme.
    Supporting the resolution of commercial and contractual issues.
    Maintaining accurate commercial records and ensuring contractual compliance.About YouWe are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with strong commercial and contractual experience, ideally gained within construction, civil engineering, energy or infrastructure projects.
    You will ideally have:

    Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor on construction or infrastructure projects.
    Strong knowledge of commercial management, cost control and contract administration.
    Experience managing subcontractors, variations and valuations.
    Excellent numerical, analytical and communication skills.
    The ability to work collaboratively with project teams and external stakeholders.
    A proactive and commercially minded approach.
    Experience within the renewable energy or solar sector would be advantageous, but is not essential.What’s on Offer
