How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Head of Construction & Trade Services - Contract
    Location: Loughborough
    Contract: Full-time, 3 months End of August Until November 2026
    Start Date: End of August 2026
    Duration: Until November 2026
    Rate: £400-£450 Per Day

    Are you an experienced Head of Construction & Trade Services looking for your next contract, and available for a quick start.

    We are seeking a Head of Construction to provide short-term management support across our Further Education provision.
    The successful candidate will provide leadership and oversight across a broad range of construction curriculum areas, potentially including:

    Construction
    Multi-Trade
    Brickwork
    Painting & Decorating
    Plumbing & Gas
    Other associated construction curriculum areas
    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced FE Manager who is confident leading a curriculum department, managing staff and ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality teaching and learning.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead and manage the Construction curriculum across 2 colleges
    Provide effective leadership and support to curriculum staff.
    Oversee the day-to-day management and delivery of the curriculum.
    Ensure high standards of teaching, learning, student experience and outcomes.
    Monitor curriculum performance and support improvement activity where required.
    Manage curriculum resources, staffing and operational requirements.
    Work collaboratively with senior leaders and curriculum teams to ensure effective provision.
    Ensure compliance with relevant FE, safeguarding, health & safety and quality requirements.About You
    We are looking for someone with:

    Significant management experience within Further Education.
    Experience leading a curriculum department or broad curriculum area.
    Strong knowledge of Construction and/or related vocational provision.
    Experience of curriculum planning, quality assurance and performance management.
