How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Controls and Robotics Engineer (Highly Autonomous)

    £50,000 - £80,000 + International Travel + Career Progression + Technical Training + Highly Autonomous + Private Family Healthcare + Specialist Projects

    Factory & Office based role with international travel, commutable from Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Ledbury, Evesham, Worcester, Stroud, Gloucester and surrounding areas.

    Are you a Controls Engineer, Robotics Engineer, Automation Engineer or similar, with experience programming PLCs and industrial robotics, looking for a highly autonomous role where you will be recognised for your technical expertise, work on a variety of bespoke projects and have the opportunity to progress your career?

    On offer is the opportunity to join a well-established and growing company who are specialists in their field, where you will benefit from working on technically challenging projects for major customers, receive specialist training and have the opportunity to progress your career both technically and professionally.

    This company specialises in the design, build and installation of bespoke control systems and factory automation, including manufacturing and packaging machinery, conveyors, robotics and vision inspection. Established in 2002, they have grown to a team of around 50 people and are continuing to expand due to increased customer demand.

    On offer is a Controls and Robotics Engineer role where you will be responsible for designing, programming, integrating, installing and supporting bespoke control and robotic systems. You will work on a mixture of standalone projects and larger turnkey automation projects, with regular opportunities to work on customer sites across the UK, Europe, USA and Canada.

    This role would suit an Engineer from a Controls, Robotics, Automation or similar background who is looking for a highly autonomous and technically focused position, where they can take ownership of projects, develop their skills and be recognised as a technical specialist within a close-knit engineering team.

    The Role:

    Design, program, integrate and commission bespoke PLC, HMI, SCADA, network and robotic systems
    Take ownership of automation projects from concept and design through to build, commissioning and handover
    Carry out installation, commissioning, fault-finding and customer support across the UK and internationallyThe Person:

    Proven experience in industrial controls and robotics, with PLC programming experience using Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens
    Experience programming and integrating industrial robots
