How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Sales Manager to £45k + uncapped commission | Full-time | Dorking

    Are you an ambitious Sales Manager with exhibition or sponsorship sales experience who enjoys winning new business, building strong client relationships and exceeding targets?

    This could be an exciting opportunity to join a growing and forward-thinking events business, working on an established event that is entering an exciting new phase of growth.

    The opportunity

    As Sales Manager, you’ll take ownership of day-to-day sales, develop new business, grow existing relationships and play a key role in delivering the commercial success of the event.

    Working closely with the Event Director and wider team, you’ll have the opportunity to influence the event strategy, identify new revenue opportunities and help take the event to the next level.

    You’ll be responsible for:

    Delivering and exceeding personal sales and revenue targets
    Developing new business and maximising existing client relationships
    Selling exhibition space, sponsorship and additional revenue opportunities
    Managing and developing the event floorplan
    Building strong relationships with exhibitors, partners and key industry contacts
    Developing a strong understanding of the market, its trends and competitors
    Attending relevant events to build relationships and generate new opportunities
    Supporting the rebooking strategy and maximising repeat business
    Working with marketing to deliver effective campaigns
    Maintaining accurate sales pipelines, forecasts and CRM records
    Contributing ideas and initiatives to grow and develop the event
    Supporting and mentoring junior sales team members where appropriate About you We’re looking for someone who is commercial, energetic and relationship-led, with a genuine appetite for winning business and growing an event.

    You’ll ideally have:

    Previous exhibition, events or sponsorship sales experience
    A proven track record in new business and sales growth
    Experience across telephone and face-to-face sales
    Strong account management and relationship-building skills
    Experience managing a sales pipeline and CRM – ideally Salesforce
    A confident, proactive and target-driven approach
    The ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of your own results
    Strong communication and negotiation skills
