How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you a caring, patient and resilient person who enjoys helping young people overcome barriers to learning? A supportive secondary school is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work with pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), providing the encouragement and guidance they need to develop academically, socially and personally.

    The Role of SEN Teaching Assistant in Stevenage

    As a SEN Teaching Assistant in Stevenage you will play an important role in supporting pupils across the school day. You will work within the classroom, provide individual assistance and deliver small-group support, helping students remain focused, confident and engaged with their learning.

    Key Responsibilities

    Provide 1:1, classroom and small-group support for pupils with MLD
    Help students develop their literacy, numeracy and wider learning skills
    Work alongside teachers to adapt activities and make lessons accessible
    Encourage positive behaviour and maintain a calm, structured learning environment
    Develop positive and trusting relationships with pupils
    Support students with their emotional, social and educational development
    Encourage greater independence and confidence in everyday learning

    Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ideally MLD
    Experience working within a secondary school or similar educational setting
    A calm, patient and consistent approach
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    A reliable, proactive and team-focused attitude
    Able to commute to Stevenage
