How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Fawkes & Reece are currently recruiting for an experienced Civil Site Manager to oversee a specialist trash screen project in Lower Conham Vale in Bristol

    Our client specialises in the delivery of Civil Engineering, groundworks, bespoke housing, Surveying , and drainage projects.

    The role of site manager is for an immediate start up until the end of October 2026

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in civil engineering, water infrastructure, drainage or environmental works to join an established contractor on an important infrastructure project.

    The Role

    As Civil Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the project, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    Managing the day-to-day site operations and workforce.
    Supervising civil engineering and associated construction activities.
    Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site personnel.
    Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
    Maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
    Carrying out site inspections and monitoring quality of works.
    Liaising with the Project Manager, engineers, subcontractors and client representatives.
    Managing site records, progress reports and relevant documentation.
    Ensuring the project remains on programme and identifying any potential delays or issues.About You

    The successful candidate will ideally have:

    Previous experience as a Civil Site Manager / Site Manager.
    Strong civil engineering or infrastructure experience.
    Experience working on trash screen , water, drainage, environmental projects would be highly advantageous.
    Strong understanding of health & safety requirements.
    SMSTS - essential.
    CSCS - appropriate to the role.
    First Aid - desirable.
    Excellent communication and organisational skills.
    The ability to manage subcontractors and site teams effectively.This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Civil Site Manager looking for a new contract opportunity in Bristol.
