How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Toolmaker

    Oldbury | Up to £33,000 | Permanent | 37 Hours per Week

Are you an experienced Toolmaker with hands-on experience of pre-pierce and cut-off tooling?

We're recruiting for an established manufacturing business in Oldbury who are looking to add an experienced Toolmaker to their team.

This is a hands-on toolroom position supporting a busy manufacturing operation, with responsibility for the manufacture, maintenance, repair and fault finding of tooling to ensure production runs efficiently and downtime is kept to a minimum.

    The Role

    You'll be responsible for:

Manufacturing, maintaining and repairing production tooling
Working specifically with pre-pierce and cut-off tools
Diagnosing tooling faults and carrying out repairs and modifications
Supporting production breakdowns and minimising downtime
    Manufacturing new tooling and components
Operating manual and CNC toolroom machinery
    Surface grinding, milling and turning
Working from engineering drawings to specified tolerances
Supporting tooling try-outs and continuous improvement activities

    About You

We're particularly interested in hearing from experienced Toolmakers who have:

    Hands-on experience of pre-pierce and cut-off tooling – essential
A background in press tooling and/or roll-forming tooling
Experience manufacturing, repairing and maintaining tooling – rather than solely machining components
    Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Manual machining experience including milling, turning and surface grinding
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work accurately to tolerances
Experience of CNC machining and/or wire EDM would be advantageous
A practical, hands-on approach and the ability to support production when tooling problems arise
If you're an experienced Toolmaker with pre-pierce and cut-off tooling experience and are looking for a permanent opportunity with an established manufacturing business, we'd love to hear from you
